At Rodborough Community Primary School all children are equally valued. Through our whole school vision and values, policies, practice and provision we strive to develop an environment where all children flourish and feel safe.

Within school we aim to provide teaching and learning experiences that enable all children to access a broad, balanced and appropriately differentiated curriculum. We believe that educational inclusion is for all and endeavour to create equal opportunities for all learners, irrespective of age, gender, ethnicity, impairment, attainment and background.

We use an inclusive approach to teaching where every child is supported regardless of their level of need. On top of the ‘Quality First Teaching’ which is the entitlement for all children at our school we also offer a range of ‘additional and different to’ provision to support children with SEN. This may be provided by the class teacher, or with support from a teaching assistant or may also involve:

  • Advice and support from school’s Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) and other members of staff within the school.
  • Staff who visit from the Local Authority central services such as the Educational Psychologist or the Advisory Teachers Service (ATS).
  • Staff who visit from outside agencies such as the NHS Speech and Language Therapy Service.
  • Referrals to Early Help (accessed through the Local Offer)
