Rodborough is a friendly and inclusive school, where children are at the heart of every decision we make. Pupil voice is sought and acted upon at every opportunity, with the Pupil Parliament interacting with stakeholders and leading initiatives both in and out of school. Our ethos of ‘Learning together, sharing together, achieving together’ ensures that children, staff, governors and parents try to work hard as one community, to ensure the very best provision for our 201 pupils. Our values and learning powers are woven through all aspects of school life, underpinning what it is that makes us unique. This year we are focussing on ‘We are Rodborough’ teaching children about their place in our community and how the school and locality has changed since the school was first created in 1901. Rodborough prides itself in offering a broad and enriched curriculum, that has high expectations of all pupils and is enhanced by a wide variety of trips, visitors, clubs and specialist peripatetic Music provision. As well as being awarded the Gloucestershire Music Mark for the third year, we have the Healthy Schools Award and are a registered Unicef Rights Respecting school, working towards Silver. To help our families, we run a breakfast club and there is after school provision run by Atlas Camps onsite. Supporting pupils’ and staff mental health and well-being is incredibly important to us. We have a designated senior mental health lead, with most staff having had Mental Health First Aid Training and ran a well-being programme with the whole school in January 2023. Parents have a positive view of the school, the vast majority of whom would recommend us.
